Aires marines protégées et récifs artificiels : méthodes d'évaluation, protocoles expérimentaux et indicateurs ArchiMer
Claudet, Joachim.
Marine Protected Areas' (MPAs) and Artificial Reef's (ARs) management requires complex assessment and monitoring programmes, dealing with different sources of variability. We studied and developed experimental designs and analysis methods suited for the establishment of a monitoring of MPAs and ARs. This methodology is developed from existing data sets in the Northwestern Mediterranean. We build multi-criteria indicators allowing a statistically testable diagnosis of the impact of MPAs and ARs on reef fish assemblages. Using ecological performance indicators permits to monitor and to give an image of the assessed system to managers. It was possible to show the global response of the fish assemblages to the protection by a MPA. This response was evidenced...

CAMP Connectivité des Aires Marines Protégées. Mars 2009-Octobre 2012. Rapport Final ArchiMer
Bourjea, Jerome; Evano, Hugues; Muths, Delphine.
The main objective of the CAMP project (2009-2011) was to estimate the effective connectivity between Marine Protected Areas (MPA) in the southwest Indian Ocean (SWIO) through population genetics of 3 biological models Epinephelus merra, Lutjanus kasmira and Myripristis berndti. The ultimate goal is to provide scientific results for managers to contribute significantly to the design of the MPA network in SWIO. At the end of the project and thank to the cooperation with the Natural Marine Reserve of La Réunion and 5 international partners from the SWIO, 414 M. berndti, 623 L. kasmira and 731 E. merra were sampled in 16 different sites (Reunion, Mayotte, Geyser, Europa, Juan de Nova, Glorioso, Rodrigues, Mauritius, Moheli, Grande Comore, Seychelles, Kenya,...

Conservation of marine habitats under multiple human uses. Methods, objectives and constraints to optimize a Marine Protected Areas network in the eastern English Channel ArchiMer
Delavenne, Juliette.
The eastern English Channel is a significant economic area that supports a number of human-based activities, such as tourism and recreational activities, international ports and shipping, and the extraction of both living and mineral resources. In addition, the region supports a number of important marine biological features and large habitat diversity. Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) are increasingly used as a management tool to foster a sustainable exploitation of marine resources in an ecosystem based management framework. All European countries have a legal obligation to develop MPA networks in their national waters. However, there has to date been only limited attempts to coordinate the design and positioning of such networks at an international level...

Définition d'Indicateurs de performance et d'un Tableau de bord pour la Réserve Naturelle Marine de La Réunion (Rapport du site atelier de La Réunion pour le projet PAMPA) ArchiMer
Tessier, Emmanuel; Pothin, Karine; Chabanet, Pascale; Fleury, Pierre-gildas; Bissery, Claire; David, Gilbert; Thomassin, Aurélie; Lemoigne, Valerie; Loiseau, Nicolas.
The objectives of marine protected areas (MPA), such as Reunion’s Marine Reserve founded in 2007, are (i) protect habitats (ecosystems) and resources (biodiversity) from increasing pressure due to a major urban, economic and recreational development; ii) manage uses and conflicts between traditional fisheries, spear-fishing, diving and recreational activities inside the coastal zone. These goals necessitate monitoring tools such as indicators and diagnostics. The PAMPA programme involves seven MPA including the Natural Marine Reserve of La Reunion (RNMR). It aims for each site to identify and validate indicators according to management objectives and group them in a MPA performance dashboard. This panel will help to visualize temporal trends and define...

Rapport de campagne vidéo «STAVIRO» - Parc Naturel Marin de Mayotte du 6 au 24 novembre 2017. ArchiMer
Giannasi, Paul; Gaboriau, Matthias.
